Iridium Edge
Rent to Iridium Edge today for a quick plug and play Satellite IoT solution. The Iridium Edge satellite device has a built in Iridium SBD transceiver along with GPS and Iridium Satellite antennas making it easy to setup and deploy.
Description
Global Tracking Beyond Cellular Networks
The Iridium Edge communicates over the Iridium satellite network, providing truly global coverage for asset tracking and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications. Whether monitoring equipment in remote construction sites, tracking vehicles across continents, or collecting data from isolated infrastructure, it continues to operate where terrestrial networks are unavailable.
The device supports two-way Short Burst Data messaging, allowing remote assets to send status updates while also receiving commands or configuration changes.
Integrated Design for Easy Deployment
Unlike traditional satellite modems that require separate antennas and transceiver units, the Iridium Edge combines both into a single enclosure. This reduces installation time, minimizes cabling, and simplifies deployment on vehicles, trailers, heavy equipment, and fixed installations.
The compact housing is designed for permanent outdoor installation and can be mounted on a wide variety of assets.
Built for Remote Monitoring
The Iridium Edge includes an integrated GPS receiver for accurate location reporting and supports configurable tracking intervals to suit different applications. Combined with digital and analog interfaces, it can monitor external sensors and transmit operational data back to a central monitoring platform.
Typical applications include:
- Fleet and vehicle tracking
- Heavy equipment monitoring
- Utility infrastructure
- Oil and gas operations
- Agricultural equipment
- Environmental monitoring
- Maritime asset tracking
- Remote industrial sites
Designed for Reliable Field Operation
Engineered for demanding environments, the Iridium Edge features a rugged, weather-resistant enclosure and operates across a wide temperature range. Its low power requirements make it suitable for solar-powered installations, battery-operated equipment, and continuously powered assets alike.
By combining durable hardware with the reliability of the Iridium satellite network, it provides dependable communications for long-term field deployments.
