Power Support for a 16W BUC

The V3-8054 supplies power for a compatible 16W block upconverter installed in an Intellian v100 or v100GX system. The BUC converts the modem’s transmit signal into a Ku-band uplink signal, while this unit provides the electrical power required for the higher-output transmitter.

v100 and v100GX Compatibility

This power supply is identified for Intellian v100 and v100GX maritime VSAT antennas. These stabilized 1-meter antenna systems are used for vessel internet access, voice, operational data, and other satellite communications over compatible Ku-band networks.

Because Intellian systems may use different BUC power levels and hardware generations, compatibility should be confirmed against the antenna serial number and existing RF configuration.

8W-to-16W System Upgrade

Intellian identifies the following components as necessary when converting a compatible v100 system from the Mini NJRC 8W BUC configuration to 16W:

• Intellian V3-8054 16W BUC Power Supply Unit
• Intellian V1-2213 Mini NJRC 16W BUC

The power supply alone does not increase transmission power; the antenna must also have the correct 16W BUC and compatible wiring and control configuration.

Replacement and Installation

The V3-8054 may also be used to replace a damaged or failed power supply in an existing compatible 16W system. Installation and commissioning should be performed according to the Intellian service documentation, with vessel power isolated before connections are changed.
