Cobham SAILOR 100 GX 10W Conv. Kit

Upgrade from 5W to 10W

The conversion kit is designed for an eligible SAILOR 100 GX system that currently uses a 5W block upconverter. It replaces or modifies the required RF components so the antenna can operate with the higher-power 10W configuration.

The vessel’s existing system version and serial information should be checked before ordering because compatibility may depend on the installed hardware.

Improved Ship-to-Shore Performance

Higher transmit power primarily supports the outbound satellite link from the vessel. This can improve the handling of bandwidth-intensive traffic such as operational data, cloud synchronization, remote diagnostics, large file transfers, video conferencing, and crew connectivity.

Cobham introduced the SAILOR 100 GX High Power platform with approximately twice the RF power of the standard terminal, specifically to support higher-data-rate Fleet Xpress applications.

Maritime Connectivity Applications

The upgrade is intended for vessels with greater upload and availability requirements, including:

• Offshore support and energy vessels
• Cruise and passenger ships
• Commercial shipping fleets
• Research and government vessels
• Superyachts with high onboard data demand

Actual speeds and service availability depend on the Fleet Xpress plan, satellite coverage, network conditions, vessel location, and the complete onboard installation.

Existing SAILOR 100 GX Platform

The conversion retains the vessel’s stabilized one-meter SAILOR 100 GX antenna platform while upgrading its transmission capability. The SAILOR 100 GX is a three-axis stabilized Ka-band terminal designed for Inmarsat Global Xpress and Fleet Xpress maritime service.

Professional Installation Required

This is a technical antenna-system conversion rather than a user-installed accessory. Installation, system configuration, testing, and any required commissioning should be completed by a qualified SAILOR technician or authorized maritime satellite installer.

The conversion should also be coordinated with the satellite service provider to confirm that the terminal configuration and selected Fleet Xpress plan support high-power operation.
