Ka-Band BUC Monitoring and Control

The cable provides the M&C connection between the EXPLORER terminal and its Ka-band BUC. This connection allows the system to exchange operating and status information with the upconverter as part of normal satellite transmission.

It is a control cable and does not replace the separate transmit, receive, or main DC power connections used by the complete antenna system.

Replacement for the EXPLORER 6075LX

The cable is designed for the Cobham EXPLORER 6075LX stabilized auto-acquire fly-away terminal. The system uses a portable 75 cm antenna and an integrated Ka-band RF assembly for access to Inmarsat Global Xpress services.

Because similar EXPLORER terminals may use different BUCs, connectors, or cable assemblies, the terminal model and existing cable should be checked before replacement.

Simple Field Installation

The cable connects during assembly of the EXPLORER 6075LX RF system alongside the terminal’s transmit and receive cables. Its preconfigured connectors support direct replacement without modifying or terminating cable ends in the field.

The terminal should be powered down before the cable is installed or removed. Connectors should be inspected for bent contacts, contamination, or physical damage before use.

Portable Satellite Applications

This cable is intended for EXPLORER 6075LX systems used for portable satellite connectivity in remote operations, emergency response, government deployments, field communications, and temporary work sites.

Keeping the correct replacement cable available can reduce downtime when the original cable becomes damaged during transport, assembly, or repeated field use.
