Description
Automatic and Manual Activation
The Firefly PRO Waterbug includes an armed mode that uses water sensors for automatic activation when submerged. It can also be operated manually, allowing the user to select a standard strobe, an SOS flash pattern, or a steady light for close-range recovery and equipment handling.
Long-Range Visual Signaling
Wide-emission cool-white LEDs create a 360-degree light pattern rated at 41 candela in strobe mode. ACR specifies visibility beyond 3 miles under appropriate nighttime and weather conditions, helping rescuers identify a person or piece of survival equipment in the water.
Battery Life
The light runs on two user-replaceable AA batteries. With lithium batteries, the standard strobe operates for more than 56 hours, the SOS mode for approximately 30 hours, and the steady-on mode for approximately 28 hours. Batteries should be inspected regularly and replaced according to the maintenance schedule for the safety equipment in which the light is stored.
Compact, Waterproof Design
The Firefly PRO Waterbug measures 4.4 inches long and weighs 2.43 ounces without batteries. Its compact housing can be attached to a life jacket, belt, pack, or survival bag using the two side lashing points and included hook-and-loop webbing strap.
The enclosure is factory tested waterproof to a depth of 33 feet, making it suitable for marine emergencies, paddlesports, offshore work, and other wet environments.
