Description
Standard 3.5 mm Earphone Connection
The AD-135 converts the radio’s 14-pin multi-connector into a 3.5 mm earphone socket. This allows a compatible conventional earphone to receive radio audio without using the radio’s built-in speaker.
Compatible Icom Earphones
Icom identifies the AD-135 for use with several 3.5 mm earphone styles:
- Icom SP-27 acoustic tube earphone
- Icom SP-29 earhook earphone
- Icom SP-40 in-ear earphone
These options allow the listening arrangement to be selected based on comfort, visibility, and whether the equipment will be shared between operators.
Receive-Only Audio Setup
The adapter and connected earphone handle incoming audio only. Push-to-talk and transmitted audio continue to use the controls and microphone on the IC-SAT100. This makes the AD-135 suitable for users who need private listening but do not require a remote microphone.
Splash-Resistant Construction
The AD-135 carries an IPX4 rating, providing protection against water splashed from any direction. It is not designed for immersion, and the connector should remain properly secured during use.
