Features:

The AeroAntenna AT2775-110GAW is a low-profile external antenna designed to connect compatible Iridium voice and data equipment aboard aircraft. Its bolt-mounted design places the antenna outside the airframe, making it suitable for permanent satellite communication installations on turbine, turboprop, and piston aircraft.

The antenna is FAA approved under TSO-C144 and designed to DO-160D environmental standards. It weighs no more than 8 ounces, operates at altitudes up to 70,000 feet, and is rated for temperatures from -55°C to +85°C. A TNC female connector supports integration with compatible aviation coaxial cables and Iridium equipment.

Description

Aircraft-Mounted Iridium Connectivity

The AT2775-110GAW provides the external RF connection required by compatible Iridium satellite receivers and transceivers. It supports satellite voice and data communications and operates at 1595 ±30 MHz with right-hand circular polarization. This makes it appropriate for permanently installed aviation communication, tracking, and operational data systems that use the supported Iridium frequency range.

Low-Profile Exterior Installation

Measuring 3.50 inches in diameter, the antenna uses a four-hole bolt-mount configuration that keeps it securely attached to the aircraft exterior. The radome extends approximately 0.82 inches above the mounting surface, helping limit aerodynamic profile while maintaining the required sky-facing antenna position. Overall height, including the connector below the mounting surface, is approximately 1.47 inches.

The antenna connects through a 50-ohm TNC female interface. Coaxial cable selection should account for the connected Iridium equipment, cable length, acceptable signal loss, and the aircraft’s approved installation requirements.

Environmental and Airframe Protection

The antenna uses an A380 aluminum-alloy casting with an ULTEM 2200 radome and a white polyurethane finish. These materials provide a durable enclosure for an antenna installed on the exterior of an aircraft and exposed to changing temperatures and flight conditions.

Its specified operating range is -55°C to +85°C, with an altitude rating of up to 70,000 feet. The design references DO-160D environmental testing and ARINC 743 requirements for aviation equipment.

Passive, Lightweight Design

The AT2775-110GAW is a passive antenna and does not require a separate electrical power connection. At no more than 8 ounces, it adds limited weight to the aircraft while providing a fixed antenna connection for compatible Iridium communication hardware.

Aviation Approval and Installation

The antenna is approved under FAA TSO-C144, which establishes minimum performance standards for the article. TSO authorization does not by itself approve the antenna’s installation on a particular aircraft. Installation should therefore be completed using the appropriate approved data and by qualified aviation personnel.

Before installation, confirm the required cable assembly, connector type, mounting location, ground-plane requirements, and compatibility with the intended Iridium terminal or avionics system.
