Iridium ASE-LA02 Lightning Arrestor for Active Antenna
Description
Surge Protection for Active Antennas
The ASE-LA02 is installed in the coaxial antenna line to help protect sensitive Iridium equipment from high-energy electrical surges. Its ultra-fast discharge design directs excess energy to ground and is designed to withstand multiple lightning events.
DC-Pass Design
Because the arrestor passes DC voltage, it can be used in active antenna systems where power is carried through the coaxial cable. This makes it suitable for compatible ASE active antennas and installations using remote amplification.
Grounding and Installation
Grounding can be completed through the integrated ground lug terminal or the N-type bulkhead connection. Proper bonding to the site grounding system is required for effective surge protection and should follow applicable electrical codes and installation requirements.
Corrosion-Resistant Construction
The arrestor is constructed from plated brass to resist corrosion in permanent outdoor and fixed-site antenna installations. It is commonly used between an external antenna and the indoor Iridium terminal or docking equipment.
