Cobham Explorer 710 Battery Extension Hot Swap Cable
Description
External Battery Connection
The cable connects a compatible EXPLORER 710 battery to the dedicated external battery connector on the terminal. The terminal initially operates from its installed battery and automatically switches to the external battery when the installed battery is depleted.
Battery Replacement Without Interrupting Operation
Once the terminal is operating from the external battery, the depleted internal battery can be removed and replaced with another charged battery without shutting down the EXPLORER 710. The terminal’s battery status should always be checked before removing the installed battery.
Charging Two Batteries
When external power is supplied to the terminal, both connected batteries can be charged. The EXPLORER 710 first charges one battery to approximately 80%, then the other to 80%, before completing the charge of both batteries to 100%. Battery status is shown through the terminal display and web interface.
Designed for the EXPLORER 710
This is a dedicated accessory for the Cobham EXPLORER 710 BGAN terminal and its compatible 403686G-series battery. It should not be used with other battery models or terminal power connections.
