Description
Vehicle and Vessel Power
The charger connects a compatible EXPLORER terminal to a DC accessory socket in a vehicle or vessel. Its 10–32V DC input range supports both standard 12V and 24V power systems without requiring a separate inverter.
Operation and Battery Charging
When connected to a suitable power source, the adapter can operate the EXPLORER terminal while charging its installed battery. This helps keep the terminal available during extended travel, field assignments, temporary deployments, and mobile BGAN use.
Charging performance depends on the connected terminal, battery condition, available input power, and operating load.
EXPLORER Terminal Compatibility

Alternative Power Sources
The adapter may also be used with a regulated 10–32V DC supply or a suitably configured solar power system. Cobham accessory guidance specifies a minimum solar-panel capacity of approximately 65W when this charging arrangement is used. Actual solar performance depends on sunlight, panel output, charge regulation, and terminal activity.
Connection Considerations
The accessory-socket connection should be kept secure and protected from water, corrosion, and excessive movement. Before use, confirm that the vehicle, vessel, or external power supply can provide stable power within the adapter’s specified input range.
