External Cooling for the v150NX

The V5-3003 combines an Aeron AM-03 external air-conditioning unit with the ducting required for use with the Intellian v150NX. The system is installed outside the antenna enclosure and moves cooled air through connected ducts, reducing the amount of cooling equipment that must be installed inside the radome.

Cooling Performance

The AM-03 is rated for 3.5 kW of cooling capacity under the manufacturer’s specified 30°C/7°C test condition. A remote on/off switch and thermostat terminate in a junction box that can be installed in a suitable accessible location.

Marine Construction

The air conditioner uses an AISI 316 stainless-steel chassis for resistance to demanding marine and offshore conditions. Its evaporator uses copper and aluminum construction with an epoxy-painted finish, while the condenser also uses copper and aluminum components. The unit is intended for maritime environments in non-hazardous, non-Ex areas.

Professional Installation

Installation requires suitable mounting space, electrical service, condensate drainage, and correctly routed air ducts between the air conditioner and antenna enclosure. Aeron specifies 125 mm duct connections and minimum installation clearances, including at least 20 cm beneath the unit. Installation should be completed by qualified marine HVAC and satellite-communications personnel using the current Intellian and Aeron documentation.

v150NX Compatibility

The V5-3003 is supplied specifically for the Intellian v150NX, a 1.5-meter maritime VSAT platform with a radome measuring approximately 190 × 197 cm. The antenna model and cooling-system requirements should be confirmed before ordering because other Intellian antenna sizes may use different air-conditioning and duct configurations.
