The Icom FA-S102U is a flexible replacement satellite and GPS antenna for the Icom IC-SAT100 handheld satellite PTT radio. It attaches directly to the radio’s SMA antenna connector and covers the 1616.0–1626.5 MHz Iridium frequency range.

Its compact gooseneck design allows limited flexibility during handheld use while maintaining the direct antenna connection required for satellite communication. It is intended as a replacement for a damaged or missing IC-SAT100 antenna.

Description

Direct IC-SAT100 Compatibility

The FA-S102U is designed specifically for the Icom IC-SAT100 satellite PTT handheld. It screws directly onto the radio’s SMA antenna connector without requiring an adapter or external cable.

Satellite and GPS Reception

The antenna supports the Iridium satellite frequency range used by the IC-SAT100 and also serves as the radio’s GPS antenna. Both functions are integrated into the same compact antenna assembly.

Flexible Gooseneck Construction

The gooseneck-style antenna can flex slightly during use, helping reduce strain when the radio is carried or operated in the field. It should not be sharply bent, twisted, or used as a handle.

Proper Operating Position

For dependable satellite PTT operation, the antenna should be fully attached and positioned vertically with a clear view of the sky. Buildings, vehicle roofs, heavy foliage, and other overhead obstructions can interfere with the satellite connection.
