Features:

The SAILOR FleetBroadband BDU Power Cable connects a compatible below-deck unit to the vessel’s DC electrical system. It is designed for SAILOR 150, 250, and 500 FleetBroadband terminals and provides the correct terminal-side connection for a secure replacement or new installation.

The cable measures 0.5 meters and is intended for integration with the vessel’s properly fused power wiring. It is useful when replacing a damaged cable, servicing an existing system, or installing a compatible SAILOR FleetBroadband terminal.

Description

DC Power Connection for the BDU

The power cable connects the SAILOR FleetBroadband below-deck unit, or BDU, to the vessel’s DC power supply. The terminal-side connector fits the BDU power input, while the cable is incorporated into the vessel’s electrical installation according to the terminal’s installation requirements.

It is intended for permanent marine installations rather than connection to a household AC outlet.

Compatible FleetBroadband Systems

The cable is used with several SAILOR maritime satellite terminals, including:

  • SAILOR 150 FleetBroadband
  • SAILOR 250 FleetBroadband
  • SAILOR 500 FleetBroadband

The same cable is also listed for selected SAILOR Fleet One and other compatible Cobham or Thrane & Thrane terminals that use the same BDU power interface.

Short Cable for Fixed Installations

At 0.5 meters in length, the cable is designed to connect the terminal to nearby vessel wiring, a distribution panel, or an installer-supplied extension cable. Its short length helps keep wiring organized around the BDU while allowing the main power run to be sized for the vessel and installation distance.

Any additional wiring should meet the required conductor size, voltage-drop limits, fuse rating, and marine electrical standards specified for the connected terminal.

Installation and Electrical Protection

The terminal should be connected to a stable DC power source using the correct polarity and circuit protection. The SAILOR installation documentation requires the power cable connector to be secured to the terminal’s DC input and the vessel-side wiring to be installed using appropriate fusing and cable dimensions.

Installation should be completed by a qualified marine electronics technician, particularly when the cable is being integrated into an existing vessel distribution system.

Replacement and Service Use

This cable is suitable as a replacement for a damaged, corroded, or missing FleetBroadband BDU power lead. Using the correct fitted cable helps maintain a secure connection at the terminal and avoids improvised connectors that may loosen under vessel movement or vibration.
