Garmin GPSMAP H1
Description
Detailed Mapping and Navigation
The GPSMAP H1 comes with preloaded TopoActive maps for outdoor navigation and supports turn-by-turn routing, point-to-point navigation, TracBack, waypoints, courses, and activity recording. Direct-to-device satellite imagery provides an additional visual reference when reviewing terrain and surrounding features.
The 3.5-inch transflective color touchscreen provides a larger map view than many traditional handheld GPS units, while physical controls remain available for use in wet conditions, cold weather, or situations where touchscreen operation is less convenient.
Multi-Band Positioning
Multi-band GNSS support allows the GPSMAP H1 to receive signals across multiple satellite frequencies. It supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, BeiDou, and IRNSS, helping improve positioning reliability in areas with trees, steep terrain, or other signal obstructions.
SatIQ technology automatically manages satellite modes to provide strong positioning performance while conserving battery life when full multi-band operation is unnecessary.
Outdoor Navigation Tools
A built-in barometric altimeter provides elevation information, while the tilt-compensated 3-axis electronic compass provides heading information even when the device is not held level. The GPSMAP H1 also supports Geocaching Live, area calculations, sun and moon information, and dog tracking when paired with a compatible Garmin dog tracking system.
Garmin Explore compatibility allows trips, courses, waypoints, and activities to be planned and managed from a compatible mobile device or the Garmin Explore website.
Long Battery Life
The rechargeable internal lithium-ion battery provides up to 145 hours of use with all satellite systems and multi-band positioning under typical SatIQ operation. Expedition Mode can extend runtime to as much as 840 hours for longer trips where charging opportunities are limited.
Built for Outdoor Conditions
The GPSMAP H1 carries an IP67 rating for protection against dust and incidental immersion in up to 1 meter of water for as long as 30 minutes. Garmin also lists MIL-STD-810 testing for thermal, shock, and water exposure on the bare unit.
An integrated LED beacon flashlight and safety siren add useful signaling tools for outdoor and low-light situations.
Connected and Expandable
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and ANT+ connectivity support compatible Garmin apps, accessories, sensors, and connected features. The device includes 64 GB of internal storage and supports microSD cards up to 1 TB for additional mapping and data storage.
