The inReach Mini 3 provides dependable satellite communications wherever cellular service ends. Powered by the Iridium satellite network, it enables two-way text messaging, location sharing, weather updates, and interactive SOS messaging from remote mountains, deserts, forests, oceans, and polar regions. Whether traveling alone or coordinating with a team, users can stay in touch even when traditional communications are unavailable.
In the event of an emergency, the dedicated SOS button connects directly to Garmin Response℠, Garmin's 24/7 international emergency coordination center, allowing users to exchange messages with emergency responders while rescue efforts are coordinated.
Compact Design with Improved Usability
Despite its small size, the inReach Mini 3 introduces a larger color touchscreen while retaining physical buttons for operation in wet weather or when wearing gloves. The updated interface makes composing messages, navigating menus, and reviewing maps more intuitive without sacrificing portability.
A redesigned internal antenna improves satellite acquisition, while the compact housing makes the device easy to carry on backpacks, belts, life jackets, or climbing harnesses without adding significant weight.
Navigation and Location Awareness
Beyond satellite communications, the inReach Mini 3 serves as a capable navigation companion. It supports multi-band GNSS positioning for improved location accuracy and includes digital navigation tools such as TracBack® routing, waypoint navigation, digital compass, and LiveTrack location sharing.
When paired with the Garmin Explore™ and Garmin Messenger™ apps, users can plan routes, synchronize waypoints, and manage trips from a compatible smartphone while continuing to communicate through the Iridium satellite network.
