Satellite and LTE Communication

Built-in inReach technology gives the quatix 8 Pro communication capabilities beyond a conventional GPS smart watch. With an active inReach service plan, supported features include two-way messaging and location check-ins over satellite, along with interactive SOS communication with the Garmin Response coordination center. Where supported LTE service is available, the watch can also provide messaging, voice calls, LiveTrack location sharing, and other connected functions without keeping a smartphone at hand.

Satellite and LTE availability varies by country and location. Garmin indicates satellite connectivity can extend up to approximately 50 miles offshore in supported areas.

Marine Controls From the Wrist

Boat Mode reorganizes the watch around marine functions when on the water. When paired with compatible Garmin marine equipment, the quatix 8 Pro can display vessel data and provide access to functions such as autopilot control, Force trolling motor controls, and compatible chartplotter voice commands.

This makes it useful for moving around a vessel while keeping frequently used navigation and control functions accessible from the wrist.

Built for Water and Daily Wear

The 47 mm case uses a titanium bezel, sapphire crystal lens, fiber-reinforced polymer body, and titanium rear cover. Leakproof inductive buttons and a 10 ATM water rating support regular marine use, while Garmin also rates the watch for recreational diving to 40 meters under EN 13319 specifications.

The Captain Blue silicone band uses Garmin's 22 mm QuickFit system, allowing compatible bands to be changed without tools.

Navigation and Outdoor Use

Multi-band GPS and SatIQ technology support accurate positioning while balancing satellite use and battery consumption. The watch also includes built-in mapping, navigation tools, an altimeter, barometer, compass, and LED flashlight.

Beyond boating, the quatix 8 Pro supports a wide range of fitness, outdoor, water sport, health, and wellness functions, making it practical as an everyday smart watch rather than a dedicated marine instrument.

Battery Life

Battery life reaches up to 15 days in smartwatch mode or up to 8 days with the always-on display enabled. GPS-only operation is rated for up to 44 hours, while all-satellite positioning reaches up to 34 hours.

For longer trips, maximum battery GPS mode can provide up to 70 hours, while expedition GPS mode is rated for up to 14 days. Actual runtime varies with display settings, satellite use, LTE connectivity, sensors, and other enabled features.
