Features:

The Goal Zero Nomad 100 is a 100-watt foldable solar panel designed to recharge compatible Goal Zero Yeti power stations from sunlight. Its four-panel design folds into a compact package for storage and transport, making it useful for camping, overlanding, remote work sites, and backup power kits.

The panel uses monocrystalline solar cells and includes a built-in 6-foot cable with an 8mm charging connector. It weighs 10.2 pounds and is weatherproof for temporary outdoor use, but its fabric enclosure is not intended for permanent exterior installation.

Description

Portable Solar Charging

The Nomad 100 produces up to 100 watts under suitable sunlight and is designed primarily for charging Goal Zero Yeti portable power stations. The panel does not store energy by itself; it must be connected to a compatible power station or charge controller.

Its foldable construction makes it easier to carry and store than a rigid framed panel. It is suitable for temporary base camps, RV and overland trips, field operations, emergency power kits, and other applications where a portable source of solar charging is needed.

Setup and Solar Positioning

To begin charging, unfold the panel, place it in direct sunlight, and connect its built-in 8mm cable to a compatible Goal Zero power station. The panel should face the sun at an appropriate angle and be repositioned as the sun moves when practical.

Solar output varies with cloud cover, temperature, season, panel angle, elevation, shading, and the position of the sun. The rated 100-watt output represents laboratory conditions and should not be treated as continuous real-world production.

Foldable Design

The Nomad 100 folds from an operating size of approximately 59.5 inches long to a stored size of 20.5 × 15.5 × 2 inches. At 10.2 pounds, it provides meaningful charging capacity without the weight and rigid frame of a permanent solar panel.

When folded, the fabric enclosure helps protect the solar cells during storage and transportation. Care should still be taken to avoid sharp objects, heavy impacts, or placing equipment on top of the folded panel.

Weather Resistance

The panel is weatherproof and can withstand temporary exposure to outdoor conditions. However, Goal Zero notes that the protective fabric enclosure will wear faster if the panel is left outside permanently. Connected power stations and power banks should be kept protected from rain, snow, dust, and moisture.

Connecting Multiple Panels

Multiple Nomad 100 panels can be combined when additional charging input is required. Goal Zero recommends using its 4X 8mm Combiner to High Power Port Connector when combining Nomad 100 panels for larger compatible Yeti power stations. The combiner is sold separately.
