Goal Zero Nomad 20 Solar Panel
Description
Portable Solar Charging
The Nomad 20 produces up to 20W of power in direct sunlight. Its integrated USB port can charge phones, headlamps, fitness trackers, power banks, and other small USB devices, while the 8mm solar connector supports compatible Goal Zero power products.
The panel does not contain a battery and cannot store energy by itself. Charging a power bank or portable power station provides stored power that can be used after sunset or when the panel is packed away.
Adjustable Foldable Design
The four-panel design folds into a compact package for transport and storage. A built-in kickstand clicks into several positions, helping the panel face the sun at a more effective angle as conditions change throughout the day.
Integrated cable storage keeps the attached 8mm lead organized when the panel is folded.
Direct USB and 8mm Output
The regulated USB output supplies up to 10.5W for compatible USB devices. The integrated 8mm solar connector provides up to 20W and can connect directly to supported Goal Zero power banks and smaller Yeti power stations.
The Nomad 20 can also be chained with additional compatible panels through the 8mm connection when more solar input is required. Total input limits depend on the connected power bank or power station.
Outdoor Use
The panel is designed to withstand normal exposure to outdoor conditions during portable use. However, it uses a fabric enclosure and is not intended for permanent outdoor installation. Connected phones, power banks, and power stations should remain protected from rain, dust, and snow.
Solar Charging Performance
Solar output varies with cloud cover, shade, temperature, season, panel angle, and time of day. Goal Zero lists approximate recharge times of 4–8 hours for a Flip 36, 7–14 hours for a Venture 75, and 7.5–15 hours for a Sherpa 100AC under suitable solar conditions.
