Portable 50W Solar Charging

The Nomad 50 produces up to 50 watts of solar power in suitable sunlight. It is designed primarily for recharging compatible Goal Zero power stations and power banks, providing stored energy for phones, laptops, portable refrigerators, lighting, and other equipment connected to the battery system.

The panel does not store electricity by itself. Charging performance depends on sunlight, panel angle, temperature, season, shade, and the input limits of the connected device.

Foldable Four-Panel Design

Four monocrystalline panels fold into a compact carrying profile when not in use. The fabric enclosure protects the panel surfaces during transportation and includes hanging loops for mounting the panel on a tent, vehicle, or other suitable structure.

The panel can be unfolded on the ground or hung vertically, although positioning it directly toward the sun generally provides better charging performance.

Power Station and USB Connections

The integrated 8 mm cable connects directly to compatible Goal Zero Yeti power stations and Sherpa power banks. A USB-A port provides up to 12W for charging phones, power banks, headlamps, and other small USB devices without using a separate power station.

The built-in cable measures 6 ft. / 1.83 m, allowing some flexibility when positioning the panel in sunlight while keeping the connected power station protected.

Expandable Solar Input

Multiple compatible Nomad panels can be connected to increase total solar input. The Nomad 50 supports direct chaining through its 8 mm connection up to 150W. Larger arrays require the appropriate Goal Zero combiner cable and must remain within the input limits of the connected power station.

Outdoor Use

Goal Zero describes the Nomad series as weatherproof and able to withstand normal outdoor conditions. However, the fabric enclosure may wear if left outside permanently, and the connected power station, power bank, or USB device should remain protected from rain, snow, and dust.
