Description
Fixed HL1120W Installation
This mounting kit is designed specifically for the Hughes HL1120W outdoor unit. The Trimast attaches to a structurally suitable mounting surface, while the mast adapter connects the antenna’s short stanchion to the Trimast pole. The completed assembly provides a dedicated fixed mounting point for the dual-panel HL1120W antenna.
Three-Point Support
The Trimast uses a central mast with three supporting legs to create a stable wall-mounted structure. During installation, the mast must be positioned vertically so the antenna’s radiating surface remains parallel with the ground. The mounting location must also provide an unobstructed view of the sky between 36 and 90 degrees above the installed terminal.
Adjustable Antenna Position
The included short stanchion pivots within the mast adapter assembly, allowing the installer to set the HL1120W antenna to the required 3-degree forward tilt. This angle promotes drainage away from the antenna surface and must be verified with an inclinometer before the mounting bolts are fully tightened.
Installation Hardware
The kit includes a blind-mate guide and the specified hardware for securing the mast adapter, stanchion, and antenna assembly. Hughes specifies three carriage bolts and nylon nuts for attaching the adapter canister to the Trimast pole, along with M4 and M8 hardware for the antenna interface.
