Description
Non-Penetrating Installation
The mount rests on a supplied rubber mat and uses ballast rather than fasteners driven through the roof or supporting platform. This helps preserve the installation surface while providing a dedicated base for the Hughes HL1120W outdoor unit. Hughes specifies a flat, suitable location with an unobstructed view of the sky between 36 and 90 degrees above the terminal.
Short Stanchion Configuration
The short stanchion measures 120 mm and weighs 0.74 lb. Compared with the 270 mm tall version, it positions the antenna closer to the ballast tray, creating a lower overall installation profile.
Ballasted Mounting Base
The mount is designed to work with two standard 4 × 8 × 16 in. concrete blocks, although sandbags or other suitably heavy objects may also be used. Hughes specifies a minimum total ballast weight of 50 lb., with the final arrangement selected to suit the installation surface and local environmental conditions.
Adjustable Antenna Position
The stanchion attaches to the mount’s central support and allows the installer to set the antenna to the required 3-degree forward tilt before fully tightening the mounting hardware. The HL1120W body must extend over the non-penetrating tray when installed.
