The Icom HS-94 is a lightweight earhook headset with an integrated boom microphone for the Icom IC-SAT100 satellite PTT radio. The earpiece can be rotated for use on either the left or right ear, making it suitable for field personnel, security teams, transportation crews, and other users who need a compact hands-free audio setup.

For IC-SAT100 operation, the HS-94 must be used with the Icom VS-5MC PTT switch cable. The headset does not connect directly to the radio.

Description

Earhook Headset Design

The HS-94 rests over one ear and includes a flexible boom microphone positioned near the mouth. The speaker section rotates so the headset can be worn on either the left or right side.

Push-to-Talk Operation

When used with the IC-SAT100, the headset requires the Icom VS-5MC PTT switch cable. The VS-5MC provides the radio connection and push-to-talk control, while the HS-94 handles received audio and transmitted voice.

Lightweight Field Audio

The single-ear design keeps one ear open to surrounding sounds while routing satellite PTT audio through the headset. This can be useful for operators who need to monitor both radio traffic and activity around them.

Use in Protected Conditions

The HS-94 does not have a published waterproof rating. Although the IC-SAT100 radio is IP67-rated, the connected headset should be protected from rain, spray, and immersion.
