Description
Behind-the-Head Wearing Style
The HS-95 uses a neck-arm design that rests behind the head rather than over the top. Its single-ear speaker keeps one ear uncovered, which is useful for personnel who need to monitor both satellite PTT traffic and activity in the surrounding area.
Integrated Boom Microphone
A boom microphone positions the microphone close to the operator’s mouth for transmitted audio. The headset handles both received audio and voice input, while PTT control is provided by the required connection cable.
PTT and VOX Operation
When paired with the VS-5MC, the HS-95 can be used with manual push-to-talk or the cable’s supported VOX function. This allows the setup to be adapted for conventional PTT operation or hands-free voice activation where appropriate.
IC-SAT100 Connection
The HS-95 has a 2.5 mm stereo plug and does not connect directly to the IC-SAT100. The Icom VS-5MC cable is required to connect the headset to the radio’s accessory port.
Splash-Resistant Construction
The headset carries an IPX4 rating, providing protection against splashing water from any direction. It is not designed for immersion and does not retain the IC-SAT100 radio’s IP67 protection when connected.
