Permanent External Antenna Installation

The mounting kit secures the Hughes 9502 outdoor antenna in a fixed position rather than placing it directly on a temporary surface. Its base can be attached to a structurally sound horizontal, vertical, or sloped surface, including a roof or wall.

Adjustable Antenna Alignment

The pole and antenna bracket allow the installer to adjust both azimuth and elevation. Once the best signal direction has been established, the hardware can be tightened to hold the antenna in alignment.

A clear, unobstructed line of sight toward the appropriate Inmarsat satellite is required. Buildings, trees, and other objects between the antenna and satellite can reduce connection quality.

Designed for Hughes 9502 Installations

The kit is compatible with the external outdoor unit supplied with the two-piece Hughes 9502 BGAN M2M terminal. In this configuration, the antenna is installed outside while the indoor modem can remain inside a building, cabinet, or remote terminal enclosure.

It is not the IDU strap used to secure the indoor modem. Hughes lists the antenna fixed mount and IDU strap as separate installation accessories.

Installation Requirements

The base must be secured with fasteners appropriate for the mounting surface and local installation requirements. Structural fasteners used to attach the base bracket to the wall, roof, or supporting structure are not included.

Professional installation is recommended to ensure proper support, grounding, cable routing, satellite alignment, and compliance with local building and electrical requirements.
