Description
Automatic Satellite Tracking
The C11 is a two-axis land-mobile antenna containing its antenna element, amplifier systems, and mechanical tracking system within the radome. Once connected to a compatible Hughes terminal, it automatically acquires and follows the BGAN satellite signal while the vehicle is moving, without requiring manual antenna pointing.
Complete External Antenna Kit
This kit combines the primary components needed to connect a Hughes 9211 or 9202M portable terminal to a roof-mounted tracking antenna:
- Hughes Class 11 tracking antenna
- Three-piece magnetic mounting set
- 10 m coaxial RF cable
- 45.7 cm RF pigtail
The pigtail connects the external antenna cable to the portable terminal’s antenna port.
Combined RF, Power, and Control Connection
The antenna uses a single TNC coaxial connection. Through this cable, the terminal carries L-band transmit and receive signals, DC power, and antenna tracking information, reducing the installation to one cable run between the terminal and antenna.
The supplied RF cable must only be connected or disconnected while the terminal is powered off because the cable carries DC power to the antenna.
Removable Magnetic Installation
Three magnetic mounts secure the C11 antenna to a suitable steel vehicle roof. This allows the system to be installed without drilling and removed when the deployment is complete or the equipment must be moved to another vehicle.
The magnetic mounting system is rated for wind speeds up to 100 mph when correctly installed. The antenna should remain horizontal and have a clear view of the sky, with surrounding antennas and obstructions kept as far away as practical.
Compact Outdoor Antenna
The C11 measures 25.2 cm across and 11.9 cm high, with a weight of 2.0 kg. Its IP56-rated housing is designed for outdoor vehicle use and operates from -25°C to 55°C.
