Hughes HNS 9211/9202M Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery Pack

Replacement or Backup Power

This battery can replace a worn Hughes 9211 or 9202M battery or be carried fully charged as a spare. The removable design allows field teams to exchange batteries rather than waiting for the terminal to recharge before continuing operations.

Hughes lists battery assembly 3501192-0001 as the current spare battery for both portable terminal models.

Battery Capacity

The rechargeable lithium-ion pack provides:

• 7.2V nominal voltage
• 6.7Ah capacity
• 48.2Wh energy rating

Actual operating time depends on terminal model, signal conditions, Wi-Fi activity, connected devices, voice use, and the type of BGAN data connection being used.

Charging Through the Terminal

The battery is designed to be charged while installed in a Hughes 9211 or 9202M terminal. Hughes specifies a charging temperature range of 0°C to 40°C and recommends using the terminal’s approved AC/DC or DC/DC power equipment.

Storage and Battery Care

For extended storage, Hughes recommends keeping the battery in a dry location and periodically checking its charge. Lithium-ion batteries should not be opened, crushed, short-circuited, exposed to fire, or stored where their contacts can touch conductive materials.
