Base Operation Through the VE-PG4
The HM-241 connects directly to the microphone connector on the front of the ICOM VE-PG4. This creates a straightforward local operating position for transmitting and receiving through communication systems connected to the gateway.
Integrated Speaker Microphone
The built-in microphone and speaker place voice transmission and received audio in one handheld unit. This is practical for desks and control positions where an operator needs direct access to the VE-PG4 without using a separate radio.
The VE-PG4 includes echo-canceller and noise-canceller functions that support clearer full-duplex communication with compatible ICOM IP radio systems.
Programmable Emergency Button
A red programmable button provides quick access to an assigned function supported by the connected system. ICOM identifies emergency operation as one possible assignment, allowing the microphone to be configured around the organization’s communication procedures.
Control-Room and Dispatch Use
The HM-241 is suited to dispatch desks, security offices, industrial control rooms, transportation operations, and other fixed locations using the VE-PG4 to connect different radio and IP communication systems. Its coiled cable provides working reach while helping keep the installation organized.
