Remote Speaker and Microphone Operation

The HM-183LS places the radio’s speaker, microphone, and push-to-talk control within easy reach. It can be clipped to a shirt, jacket, vest, or shoulder strap, allowing the radio itself to remain attached to a belt or stored in a protected position.

This setup is useful for personnel who need frequent radio access while keeping their hands available for other tasks.

Waterproof Construction

The microphone carries an IP67 rating, providing protection against dust and temporary water immersion under the conditions defined by the rating. ICOM notes that its effective waterproof protection is equivalent to the rating of the compatible radio to which it is connected.

Rotating Attachment Clip

A rotating tie clip allows the microphone to be positioned at a practical angle when attached to clothing or equipment. The coiled cable extends between the microphone and radio without leaving excessive loose cable during normal use.

Compatible ICOM Radios

The HM-183LS uses ICOM’s two-pin Slim L-type connector and supports selected ICOM IP, LTE, D-STAR, and land-mobile handheld radios. Compatible models include:
