The IP501H uses LTE and 3G networks to provide wide-area communication without dedicated repeaters or a private radio infrastructure. Users can make individual, group, and all calls in a way that feels familiar to traditional two-way radio users, while extending coverage through the cellular network.
Full-Duplex Team Calling
Unlike standard simplex radios where one person talks while the other waits, the IP501H supports full-duplex communication. Users can talk and receive at the same time, making conversations more natural for dispatch, supervisors, security, and operations teams. Multiple users can also initiate calls without waiting for an open channel.
Built for Daily Field Use
The IP501H is small, lightweight, and rugged enough for active work environments. It measures 59 × 95 × 32 mm, weighs about 8.5 oz with battery and antenna, and carries an IP67 waterproof rating for protection in wet or dusty conditions.
Practical Safety and Messaging Tools
The radio includes an emergency button, Lone Worker, and Man Down functions to support worker safety. It also supports preprogrammed text messages, incoming message reception, vibration alerts, and up to 500 address book entries for individuals, groups, talkgroups, and telephone lists.
Easy Fleet Management
The IP501H works with Icom’s CONNECT system and requires LTE-CONNECT service. Each unit uses an Icom-supplied SIM, and users must be programmed into the private system. Over-the-air programming may be handled through Icom America, helping simplify fleet updates and configuration.
