Rapid Charging with Bluetooth

The BC-218 charges a compatible ICOM handheld radio while providing a Bluetooth connection for supported audio accessories. It is designed for mobile workstations, fleet vehicles, dispatch operations, and other installations where the radio needs to remain available while charging.

Remote Speaker Microphone Operation

When connected to the optional HM-215 speaker microphone, the BC-218 allows calls to be made while the radio is seated in the charger. The Bluetooth connection can also remain active when the radio is removed and carried nearby.

The charger stores pairing information for up to seven Bluetooth devices, reducing the need to repeat the pairing process when using previously connected equipment.

Vehicle Power Requirements

For car or truck installations, the BC-218 must be connected to a compatible vehicle power cable. The ICOM CP-22 supports 12- and 24-volt vehicle systems and converts the vehicle input to the power required by the charging cradle.

Common installation components may include:

• ICOM CP-22 or CP-23L vehicle power cable
• ICOM HM-215 speaker microphone
• Compatible mounting bracket or vehicle cradle hardware

These accessories are selected separately according to the intended installation.
