IC-SAT100 to VE-PG4 Connection

The OPC-2412 connects the IC-SAT100 Satellite PTT radio directly to the VE-PG4 RoIP Gateway. ICOM specifies this cable as required when using the IC-SAT100 with the VE-PG4.

Satellite and Land Radio Integration

Once connected and properly configured, the VE-PG4 can route audio between the IC-SAT100 and supported terrestrial communication systems. This allows land radio users to monitor Satellite PTT conversations and communicate with members of the satellite talkgroup.

The cable may be used as part of systems combining Satellite PTT with:

• Land mobile radios
• LTE and Wi-Fi radios
• IP communication terminals
• SIP phone systems
• Remote dispatch equipment

Five-Meter Cable Length

The 5 m / 16.4 ft. length provides flexibility when positioning the IC-SAT100 separately from the gateway. This can be useful when the radio must be placed closer to a window or another location with a clearer view of the sky while the VE-PG4 remains installed in a rack or equipment area.

Installation Considerations

The OPC-2412 is a dedicated equipment connection cable rather than a general-purpose audio lead. Proper VE-PG4 programming, IC-SAT100 service, and radio-system configuration are required for communication between the connected networks.
