PC-Based Radio Dispatch
The RC-FS10 creates a software-based radio control panel on a Windows PC. Dispatch personnel can transmit and receive through compatible IDAS repeater systems without keeping a separate mobile or handheld radio at the workstation.
The software can be used with supported NXDN conventional, Type-D multisite trunking, and dPMR Mode 2 systems. Compatible versions can also communicate through an ICOM VE-PG4 RoIP Gateway with land-mobile, LTE, and IP communication terminals.
Single-Site and Multisite Operation
RC-FS10 can support a single repeater site or an IP-linked multisite radio network. Up to eight target IDAS repeater sites can be programmed in the software, allowing one dispatch position to communicate across supported operating locations. The software transmits through one voice path at a time.
This arrangement is useful for transportation, utilities, security, industrial operations, campuses, and other organizations that coordinate radio users across multiple buildings or operating areas.
Customizable Dispatcher Interface
Button placement, labels, colors, and background colors can be configured around the operator’s responsibilities. This allows frequently used groups and controls to remain readily accessible without presenting every system function on the main screen.
A login system provides three user-access levels, helping administrators separate routine dispatcher controls from protected network and configuration settings.
Audio and Network Requirements
The RC-FS10 requires a compatible Windows computer with an Ethernet connection, audio hardware, and a microphone, speaker, or headset. ICOM specifies a DirectSound-compatible audio system, USB 2.0 connectivity, and an Ethernet interface rated at 10 Mbps or faster.
The supplied CT-24 Digital Voice Converter connects through USB and converts microphone audio into an IDAS-compatible digital signal. Additional microphone adapters or ICOM desktop and hand microphones can be added when required by the workstation setup.
