Remote Radio Operation

The HM-184H brings the radio’s speaker, microphone, and push-to-talk control closer to the operator. This allows a compatible handheld radio to remain attached to a belt or stored in a more protected position during routine communication.

Large Push-to-Talk Button

The microphone uses a large PTT button designed for easy operation when attached near the shoulder. This is useful when the operator is wearing gloves, protective clothing, or other field equipment.

High-Efficiency Speaker

A large-diameter, high-efficiency speaker provides audio output of up to 2W. This helps incoming communication remain understandable in vehicles, industrial sites, marine environments, and other locations with elevated background noise.

Waterproof Construction

The HM-184H carries an IP67 rating, providing dust-tight protection and resistance to temporary immersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. ICOM notes that the effective waterproof performance is equivalent to the rating of the connected radio.
