Description
Fiber Connection Between Decks
The FO-1V46 uses an above-deck module and below-deck equipment connected through a single fiber-optic cable. This reduces the number and weight of cables routed through the vessel and supports cable runs longer than those normally practical with coaxial cable.
The system is designed for single-mode fiber with FC/APC connectors. Published specifications state that comparable Intellian Fiber Link systems can support cable runs beyond 100 meters, with no measurable signal loss reported at distances up to 2,000 meters.
Integrated Antenna Control Unit
The below-deck assembly combines the fiber-link module and Antenna Control Unit in one rack-mount enclosure. This reduces the need for a separate standalone ACU and provides one location for antenna control, monitoring, and fiber-link termination.
The above-deck module installs inside the lower section of the antenna radome and connects to the integrated below-deck ACU through the vessel’s fiber cable.
Compatible 2.4-Meter Antennas
