Matching Dome for Maritime Installations

The GX-1072 provides an exterior dome and baseplate assembly designed to match Intellian GX60 and v60Ka antenna systems. It can be installed beside an operational antenna to create a balanced dual-dome appearance on commercial vessels, yachts, and other maritime platforms.

The assembly is empty and does not function as a satellite antenna by itself. Its primary purpose is to provide a matching enclosure or replace compatible exterior dome components.

Dome and Baseplate Assembly

The product includes both the upper radome and the lower baseplate rather than only a replacement dome top. The baseplate allows the complete enclosure to be mounted as a single matching assembly.

An integrated hatch provides access to the interior without requiring the entire dome top to be removed. This is useful for inspection, installation work, or servicing equipment placed within the enclosure.

Ku-Only Matching Configuration

Specialist Intellian distributors describe GX-1072 as the Ku-only matching dome and baseplate assembly. The “non-Ka” wording in some product names indicates that it is not supplied as an operational Ka-band antenna system. It is an empty matching enclosure rather than a complete GX satellite terminal.

Because Intellian offers several visually similar dome assemblies and replacement components, the part number should be checked carefully against the existing vessel installation.

Maritime Protection and Appearance

The enclosed radome design helps protect equipment placed inside the assembly from rain, wind, salt spray, and direct exposure while maintaining a clean exterior profile. Matching domes are commonly used where vessel appearance and balanced antenna placement are important.

The enclosure does not add satellite connectivity, RF performance, or redundancy unless compatible antenna equipment is installed separately.

GX-1072 is intended for professional maritime installation. Mounting position, support structure, vessel clearances, wind loading, and compatibility with the existing antenna layout should be reviewed before installation.
