High-Capacity Power for Iridium PTT

The rechargeable lithium-ion battery is designed for the Iridium Extreme 9575 and Iridium Extreme PTT handsets. It can replace a worn battery or be carried fully charged as a spare for longer periods away from AC or vehicle power.

The battery attaches directly to the back of the handset and can be replaced without tools.

PTT and Phone Mode Runtime

Battery performance depends on the operating mode. With a fully charged battery, the Iridium Extreme PTT supports up to:

• 5 hours of PTT talk time
• 16.5 hours of PTT standby time
• 6.5 hours of talk time in phone mode

Runtime may be shorter when the handset frequently searches for satellites, operates in weak signal conditions, or is used in very hot or cold environments.

Charging and Temperature Range

The battery charges while installed in the handset using compatible Iridium Extreme AC or DC charging equipment. A complete charge takes approximately four hours under normal conditions.

For proper charging, the battery should be between 0°C and 40°C. Its rated discharge temperature range extends from -20°C to 60°C.

Docking Station Compatibility

The 3760mAh battery has a thicker profile than the standard-capacity Iridium Extreme battery. Some docking stations and charging cradles may not have enough clearance for the high-capacity pack.

Compatibility should be confirmed before using it with Beam, ASE, SatStation, or other Iridium Extreme and PTT docking equipment.
