Description
Discreet Maritime Installation
The CVTIRI was developed for vessel installations where a conventional satellite antenna may be too visible. Its smoke-colored polycarbonate enclosure is shaped to resemble ordinary maritime equipment, making the antenna less identifiable as part of the vessel’s communication system.
Iridium and GPS Connectivity
The antenna contains separate elements for Iridium satellite communications and GPS reception. The Iridium element is passive and operates from 1616 to 1626 MHz, while the GPS element operates at the 1575.42 MHz L1 frequency with 26 dB gain.
This dual connection supports Beam systems that use an external Iridium antenna for satellite voice or data and a separate GPS connection for positioning, tracking, or emergency functions.
Compatible Beam Equipment
Beam states that the covert antenna can be used with its Iridium docking units and fixed maritime terminals. It is installed in the same general manner as the RST702 dual-mode antenna, making it suitable for replacement installations or covert antenna configurations based on that model.
Marine-Grade Enclosure
The antenna assembly is housed in an IP66-rated enclosure that protects it against dust and powerful water jets. Its polycarbonate radome and aluminum base plate are designed for exposed vessel installations, with an operating-temperature range from -40°C to 71°C.
Separate Satellite and GPS Cabling
The CVTIRI provides a TNC female connector for the Iridium connection and an SMA female connector for GPS. Separate Beam-compatible Iridium and GPS cable kits can be selected according to the distance between the antenna and the docking station or terminal.
