Iridium GO!® Fixed Installation Kit
Description
Fixed Indoor and Outdoor Installation
The kit allows the Iridium GO! device to remain indoors while its satellite antenna is mounted outside with a clear view of the sky. The 12-meter cable provides approximately 39 feet of separation, giving installers flexibility when routing the connection through a vessel, vehicle, equipment shelter, or remote building.
Omnidirectional Iridium Antenna
The included passive antenna operates on the Iridium L-band frequencies and does not need to be pointed toward a specific satellite. It should be mounted vertically in an unobstructed outdoor position, above and away from nearby transmitting equipment and metal obstructions.
The external antenna supports the Iridium satellite connection only. It does not provide GPS reception, so the Iridium GO! device itself still requires a suitable view of the sky when GPS positioning is needed. The device’s built-in antenna must also remain raised to switch the unit on and enable satellite transmission.
Marine and Land Mounting Options
The stainless steel mast and rail bracket fits vertical or horizontal poles and rails measuring 30–60 mm in diameter. A standard 1-inch–14NF thread supports the supplied antenna and other compatible US-style marine antenna mounts.
The included wall bracket provides a fixed mounting option on wood or metal surfaces. An adjustable RAM suction mount can secure the Iridium GO! to a glass surface, wall, table, or other suitable flat surface while allowing its position to be adjusted.
Installation and Cable Routing
The antenna cable uses an N-type connector at the antenna end and a TNC connector at the Iridium GO! end. A short TS9-to-TNC adapter connects the cable to the device’s external antenna port. The supplied cable ties help secure the cable and reduce strain at the antenna, mount, and adapter connections.
During installation, cable bends should remain within the specified radius, and exposed connections should be sealed appropriately against moisture and corrosion. The complete system should be tested before the antenna and cable are permanently secured.
