External Iridium Signal Connection

The antenna allows compatible Iridium equipment to operate from inside a vessel, building, vehicle, or equipment shelter. It is installed outside and connected to the Iridium device or docking station through an appropriate 50-ohm coaxial cable.

The antenna is passive and does not require a separate power source.

Omni-Directional Operation

The antenna communicates across the Iridium L-band frequency range using right-hand circular polarization. Its omni-directional pattern eliminates the need to aim the antenna toward a specific satellite, although an open view of the sky and horizon is still required for reliable service.

Standard Threaded Mount

The integrated base installs on a compatible marine, deck, mast, or rail bracket with a 1"-14NF threaded stud. The mounting bracket is not included and must be selected according to the installation surface and environment.

Outdoor Environmental Protection

The antenna carries an IP68 rating and uses a low-loss ASA radome with stainless-steel and brass components. It is rated for operation from -40°C to 70°C, making it suitable for permanent marine and land-based installations exposed to rain, dust, and changing temperatures.

Cable and Device Compatibility

The 65000-001 version uses an N-female antenna connector. A compatible cable must have an N-male connector at the antenna end and the appropriate connector or adapter at the Iridium device end.

Scan recommends keeping total antenna cable loss below 3 dB. Cable length and construction should therefore be selected carefully, particularly for longer installations.
