Iridium PTT Shoulder Holster
Description
Carrying Support for the PTT Link System
The shoulder holster provides a practical way to carry the Iridium Extreme PTT handset and ASE PTT Link during mobile field operations. The equipment remains close to the operator while the palm speaker microphone can be positioned for convenient listening and Push-To-Talk use.
ASE identifies the holster as an optional accessory specifically designed to integrate with its modified PTT Link configuration.
Hands-Free Equipment Placement
Placing the handset and link module in the holster reduces the need to hold the satellite phone continuously. The operator can communicate through the connected palm microphone while moving between work areas.
This setup is useful for first responders, remote field crews, security teams, humanitarian organizations, and other users who need to carry Iridium PTT equipment while keeping their hands available for other tasks. The ASE PTT Link system itself is intended to provide a more familiar palm-microphone operating experience for these types of users.
Satellite Antenna Positioning
The holster keeps the handset higher on the body than a waist-mounted case. The Iridium antenna must still have a reasonably open view of the sky, and the operator should avoid covering the antenna with clothing, equipment, or their body.
Iridium recommends minimizing nearby obstructions and holding or positioning the Extreme PTT correctly to maintain its network connection.
