Searchlight Control from a Second Station

The controller adds a secondary operating position to an existing RCL-600A installation. This is useful on commercial vessels and larger recreational boats with multiple steering or observation locations, including a main helm, flybridge, pilothouse, or tower.

The secondary controller is connected to the existing system as a slave remote panel, allowing the searchlight to be operated from either station.

Joystick Searchlight Operation

The joystick provides remote control over the connected RCL-600A searchlight. Depending on the complete system configuration, the operator can aim the light horizontally and vertically, turn the lamp on or off, and change between spot and flood beam settings.

These controls help the operator direct the RCL-600A’s beam toward navigation markers, docks, shorelines, floating objects, or work areas without leaving the secondary station.

Installation Requirements

The controller is designed for surface mounting and must be wired into the existing RCL-600A control system. The master and secondary control panels are connected in parallel using the appropriate marine-grade wiring.

Installation cable is not included. Cable size and routing should follow the RCL-600A installation manual and account for the total distance between the searchlight and both control stations.

24V RCL-600A Compatibility

ACR part number 1942 is specifically identified as the optional secondary or slave control panel for the 24V RCL-600A searchlight. It should not be ordered for the 12V RCL-600A without confirming compatibility with ACR or the installer.
