Description
Separate Transmit and Receive Connections
The TX cable connects the modem’s transmit output to the block upconverter in the outdoor unit. It operates from 1050 to 1700 MHz and carries both the transmit signal and the 10 MHz reference signal used by the BUC.
The RX cable connects the antenna subsystem’s RX output to the modem’s primary receive input. It carries the 950 to 2150 MHz L-band signal and supplies DC power to the low-noise block converter.
Longer Equipment Separation
Each cable measures 15.24 meters, or 50 feet, providing greater flexibility when the antenna and indoor equipment cannot be installed close together. Kymeta identifies 15.24 meters as one of the standard cable lengths offered for KyWay RX and TX connections.
LMR-240 Construction
The kit uses 50-ohm LMR-240 coaxial cable, designed for low-loss RF transmission and suitable for indoor and outdoor cable routing. Kymeta approves LMR-240 for KyWay RX and TX runs up to 28 meters, placing this 15.24-meter kit within the recommended maximum length.
Installation and Identification
Both cables use N-type interfaces for connection to the KyWay outdoor equipment. N-type-to-F-type adapters are used at compatible modem connections. The RX and TX cables should be clearly identified during installation to prevent the signal paths from being reversed.
