Features:

The Kymeta KyWay RX/TX Cable Kit provides the two coaxial connections between a KyWay u7 outdoor antenna assembly and its indoor satellite modem. It includes separate LMR-240 cables for the system’s transmit and receive paths, each with a nominal length of 3.66 meters, or 12 feet.

The shorter cable length is suited to installations where the indoor modem is positioned close to the outdoor equipment, helping limit excess cable while maintaining the required RF connections. Satellite Phone Store can help confirm the correct cable length and KyWay system configuration for replacement or installation projects.

Description

Separate Transmit and Receive Connections

The TX cable connects the satellite modem’s transmit output to the block upconverter in the outdoor unit. It operates from 1050 to 1700 MHz and carries the modem’s transmit signal along with a 10 MHz reference signal required by the BUC.

The RX cable connects the antenna subsystem’s RX output to the modem’s primary receive input. It carries the received L-band signal from 950 to 2150 MHz and supplies DC power to the system’s low-noise block converter.

LMR-240 Coaxial Construction

Both connections use LMR-240 coaxial cable, one of the cable types approved by Kymeta for KyWay RX and TX installations. The 3.66-meter length is intended for compact installations with a relatively short distance between the indoor and outdoor equipment.

Installation and Cable Identification

The cables use N-type connections for attachment to the KyWay outdoor equipment and modem adapters. Kymeta recommends identifying the TX cable with red markings and the RX cable with blue markings to prevent the connections from being reversed during installation. The cables should maintain a minimum bend radius of 2 cm during normal routing.
