Vehicle Battery Connection

The Kymeta u8 Vehicle Power Kit provides the cabling and electrical protection needed to power a compatible u8 terminal from a vehicle battery. The 25-foot cable supports routing from a roof-mounted terminal to the battery and electrical connections inside the vehicle.

Ignition-Controlled Operation

An accessory wire connects to a suitable vehicle ignition circuit that supplies a 12-volt signal while the vehicle is running. This allows the terminal’s power operation to follow the vehicle ignition rather than requiring the system to be switched manually during normal use.

Protected Mobile Installation

The kit includes a 100-amp circuit breaker and a 5-amp fuse with fuse holder to protect the installed electrical connections. Abrasion-resistant wire shielding helps protect the cable where it is routed through the vehicle and exposed installation areas. The assembled power kit is rated IP66 for protection against dust and water jets.

Installation Requirements

The power cable connects directly to the vehicle electrical system and should be installed by a qualified automotive technician. Cable routing must avoid heat sources, sharp edges, moving parts, and locations where the wiring could be crushed or damaged. Kymeta recommends using an authorized automotive shop for vehicle installations.
