Antenna Pole Installation

This mount provides the mechanical connection between a compatible Lars Thrane antenna unit and a vessel’s antenna pole. It is designed for a 2.0-inch nominal tube measuring 53.0 mm outside diameter.

A correctly positioned antenna mount helps provide the clear, unobstructed view of the sky required by maritime satellite communication systems.

Compatible Lars Thrane Systems

Lars Thrane supports 2.0-inch pole mounting for antenna units used with systems such as the LT-3100 and LT-3100S GMDSS. Similar mounts are also used with other Lars Thrane antenna units, but the required mount and part number may vary by system.

The antenna model, mounting interface, and pole diameter should therefore be checked before installation.

Marine-Grade Construction

The mount is manufactured for permanent exterior antenna installations. The 91-102550 version uses black-anodized milled aluminum with A4 stainless-steel locking screws, providing corrosion resistance for marine environments.

Lars Thrane also produces an A4 stainless-steel 2.0-inch mount for the larger LT-4200 antenna family. These versions should not be treated as interchangeable without confirming the antenna and system model.

Installation Requirements

The mount attaches to the antenna unit and is then secured to the mast using its locking screws. Fasteners should be tightened according to the torque values in the applicable Lars Thrane installation manual.

The selected mounting location should:

• Provide a clear view of the sky
• Support the weight of the antenna and mount
• Use a tube with the specified outside diameter
• Maintain the antenna clearances stated in the system manual
• Allow the antenna cable to be routed without sharp bends or strain
