ACR LNK-AL15 Light, 18"
Description
Automatic Water Activation
The LNK-AL15 uses a reserve battery pack that activates automatically when immersed in fresh or salt water. Activation occurs within two minutes, allowing the light to begin operating without requiring the survivor to find or operate a switch.
The battery pack must be installed where it will enter the water when the life jacket or flotation device is deployed.
Steady Survivor Location Light
Once activated, the high-efficiency LED produces a steady white light rather than a flashing strobe. Light intensity remains above 1 candela for a minimum of eight hours, helping search crews identify the position of a survivor after an aviation-related water emergency.
The lamp provides at least 300° of horizontal light coverage and at least 5° of vertical coverage. It should be mounted where the upper portion of the lens remains unobstructed and visible in all horizontal directions.
Separate Lamp and Battery Pack
The LNK-AL15 consists of a compact LED lamp connected to a separate water-activated battery pack. This arrangement allows the lamp to be positioned where it remains visible while the battery pack is placed where it will reliably contact the water.
The 18 in. (46 cm) lead on part number 1503046B provides additional separation compared with the 9 in. version while remaining shorter than the available 24 in. model.
Aviation Safety Installation
The light is designed for aviation life jackets, life preservers, life rafts, and lifeboats carried aboard aircraft. Installation must meet the applicable aircraft airworthiness requirements, and the installer is responsible for confirming that the installation conditions satisfy TSO standards.
The light should be inspected for cracks, swelling, deformation, or other visible damage before being returned to service.
Reserve Battery Storage
The reserve battery remains inactive until it contacts water. ACR specifies an indefinite storage life when the light is stored within the stated temperature and humidity limits and the battery pack has not been exposed to liquid.
The unit should remain in its original packaging until installation and be stored in a clean, dry environment.
