Intellian NJRC Ku-band Extended Mini 25W BUC w/M&C (NJT 8370UNMR) V1-2217

Features:

The Intellian V1-2217 is an NJRC NJT8370UNMR 25W GaN block upconverter for compatible maritime VSAT systems. It converts a 950–1,700 MHz L-band signal from the modem into a 13.75–14.5 GHz universal Ku-band uplink signal.

This model includes an N-type IF input, a separate DC power connection, and an RS-232C monitoring and control interface. Its compact, forced-air-cooled, IP67-rated enclosure is designed for outdoor antenna installations requiring higher uplink power and remote system management.

Satellite Phone Store supplies Intellian maritime VSAT equipment and replacement RF components. Our team can help confirm the antenna model, frequency plan, BUC output, power supply, and control-interface requirements before ordering.

Description

Universal Ku-Band Uplink Coverage

The NJT8370UNMR operates across the 13.75–14.5 GHz universal Ku-band uplink range. It accepts a 950–1,700 MHz IF signal and uses a 12.8 GHz local oscillator, supporting compatible networks operating across both standard and extended Ku-band frequencies.

25W GaN Output

The BUC uses gallium nitride amplifier technology and provides at least +44 dBm of saturated output power, equivalent to 25W. Its nominal small-signal gain is 72 dB, with a specified minimum of 66 dB.

It is intended for compatible maritime satellite systems supporting internet access, voice, operational communications, and other vessel data services.

RS-232C Monitoring and Control

The NJT8370UNMR includes an RS-232C serial interface for integration with compatible antenna and terminal controls. Available monitoring and control functions include:

  • RF power monitoring
  • Transmit on/off control
  • Alarm reporting
  • Digital step-attenuator control

A built-in LED shows whether the local oscillator is locked and the required reference signal is present.

Separate DC Power Connection

The N-type female connector carries the L-band IF signal and external 10 MHz reference. Operating power is supplied through a separate MS connector.

The BUC accepts 36–60V DC, with 48V DC as the nominal supply. Power consumption is approximately 180W at +42 dBm output and may reach 230W at saturated output.

Protected Outdoor Installation

The weatherized enclosure carries an IP67 rating and uses forced-air cooling for operation within compatible stabilized marine antennas and outdoor fixed VSAT assemblies. The BUC automatically shuts down its high-power amplifier if the local oscillator loses lock or the 10 MHz reference is unavailable.
