Intellian NJRC Ku-band Standard 4W BUC (NJT8304N) V1-2104
The Intellian V1-2104 is an NJRC NJT8304N 4W block upconverter for compatible Ku-band satellite communication systems. It converts an L-band signal from the modem into a 14.0–14.5 GHz Ku-band uplink signal and provides up to 4W of linear RF output power.
Its compact, IP67-rated enclosure is designed for outdoor antenna installations in marine and fixed VSAT systems. The unit uses an N-type female IF connector and a WR-75 waveguide output and operates from 12–30V DC supplied through the IF cable.
Satellite Phone Store supplies Intellian satellite communication equipment and replacement RF components. Our team can help confirm the required frequency band, output power, connector type, and antenna compatibility before ordering.
Description
Ku-Band Satellite Uplink Conversion
The NJT8304N receives an L-band IF signal from the satellite modem and converts it to the standard Ku-band uplink range of 14.0–14.5 GHz. A phase-locked local oscillator synchronizes with an external 10 MHz reference carried through the IF connection, helping maintain stable uplink frequency performance.
4W Linear RF Output
The BUC provides a minimum P1dB output of +36 dBm, equivalent to 4W. Its nominal linear gain is 62 dB, supporting maritime and fixed VSAT terminals that require a compact, lower-power Ku-band transmitter for voice, operational data, internet access, and other satellite services.
Compact Outdoor Construction
The weatherized enclosure is rated IP67 against dust and water ingress. Its compact dimensions and 500 g weight make it suitable for mounting within compatible stabilized marine antennas and other outdoor VSAT assemblies where available space and antenna weight are important considerations.
Power and Signal Through One Cable
The NJT8304N receives the IF signal, 10 MHz reference, and DC operating power through its N-type female input connector. It accepts a 12–30V DC supply, with 24V DC as the nominal requirement, simplifying the connection between the modem or antenna control equipment and the BUC.
The high-power amplifier automatically mutes if the local oscillator is unlocked or the external 10 MHz reference is absent.
System Compatibility
The V1-2104 is intended for compatible Intellian standard Ku-band satellite communication systems requiring an NJT8304N BUC. Before replacement, confirm the antenna model, Ku-band frequency plan, required output power, IF connector impedance, waveguide orientation, and mounting arrangement.
