Dedicated Bivy Control Device

The Nokia Smart Device Bivy Companion provides a separate Android interface for operating a compatible Bivy Stick. The Bivy app is pre-installed, reducing setup steps and making the phone suitable for organizations or families that prefer to keep satellite communication equipment together as one assigned kit.

Through the paired Bivy system, users can access supported functions such as two-way satellite messaging, location sharing, tracking, weather information, check-ins, and SOS communication. The phone connects to the Bivy Stick over Bluetooth, while the Bivy Stick handles communication through the Iridium satellite network.

Large Display and Familiar Android Interface

The 6.5-inch HD+ display provides room for reading messages, viewing maps, checking weather information, and adjusting Bivy settings. Sunlight brightness boost helps improve visibility outdoors, while the familiar Android 11 interface keeps regular smartphone functions straightforward.

Cellular, Wi-Fi, and Satellite-System Use

When cellular or Wi-Fi service is available, the phone can operate as a standard connected Android device. Outside terrestrial coverage, it can remain paired with a compatible Bivy Stick for supported satellite functions.

The handset supports 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, assisted GPS, GLONASS, and BeiDou. These connections allow it to serve as a practical companion device across normal mobile networks and properly configured Bivy satellite deployments.

Battery and Storage

The integrated 5,050 mAh battery supports extended mobile use, while 32 GB of internal storage provides space for the operating system, Bivy app, maps, photographs, and other files. A microSD card of up to 512 GB can be added when more storage is required.

Charging is provided through USB-C at up to 10W. The included protective case and pre-installed screen protector help prepare the device for regular travel and field handling.

Field and Shared-Equipment Applications

The Bivy Companion is suited to outdoor travel, remote work crews, emergency kits, vehicle fleets, rental equipment, and organizations that do not want personnel to install the Bivy app on personal phones. A dedicated device can also simplify account management, training, and equipment handoffs between users.

The handset carries an IPX2 rating for limited protection against dripping water. It should still be kept protected from rain, immersion, dust, impacts, and harsh environmental exposure.
