Prevents Accidental Activation

The replacement tab fits over the S100 SART’s red and green operating controls. Its clear protective design helps prevent the activation switch from being moved unintentionally while the SART is stored in its mounting bracket or emergency equipment locker.

Indicates Previous SART Use

The tab is designed to break when the S100 is activated. A missing or broken tab therefore provides a visible indication that the SART may have been used and should be inspected before it is returned to service.

After any operational activation, Ocean Signal recommends replacing the S100 battery and having the protective tab restored by an authorized service provider.

Designed Specifically for the S100 Radar SART

This component is compatible with the Ocean Signal safeSEA S100 Search and Rescue Transponder. The S100 is a radar SART used to help search-and-rescue vessels locate a liferaft or survival craft by responding to compatible X-band radar signals.

The replacement tab does not affect the SART’s radio performance and does not contain any electronic components.

Service Installation Recommended

The protective tab is a small breakable component and can be damaged if incorrectly positioned or forced into place. Ocean Signal’s operating instructions state that the cover is not intended to be replaced by the user and that the SART should be returned to an authorized service center.

A service inspection also allows the battery expiry date, activation controls, housing seals, and SART operation to be checked before the unit is returned to emergency use.
